Dave Jay at Maimonides Hospital

I perform regularly for children in hospitals in the New York City area, at such places as St. Mary’s, Montefiore, Brooklyn Hospital, and SUNY Downstate. Last week, I also began visiting the kids at Maimonides in Brooklyn, at the children’s hospital, ICU, and at their Cancer Center.

There was a little girl in the Cancer Center wearing an elaborately-styled pretty pink dress, so I slid down to my knees and treated her like the princess I imagined her to be: “What song shall I play for ye, my Liege?”, I inquired in my silliest manner.  I take great pride in the connections I am able to make with these kids, their parents, and the staff.

These performances are all made possible through the amazing work of Music That Heals, which brings professional musicians together with facilities for seriously ill children and adults.  For more info. about this fantastic organization, please visit:  musicthatheals.org
